Sudio’s Fem true wireless earbuds offer touch controls, IPX5 water resistance and up to 20 hours of total listening time.
The earbuds have a stealthy-looking matte black finish that helps hide fingerprints and smudges. The earbuds are lightweight thanks for their plastic construction that feels high-quality and soft to the touch.
Found on the outer side of the earbuds is a multi-function touch surface for track and volume controls, as well as an indicator LED to let you know the status of the earbuds. I’m glad to see a touch surface on these earbuds as I prefer this over a button as less force needs to be used to use the in-ear controls.
The underside of the earbuds has Sudio’s branding as well as letter to let you know which ear the earbud is for. The charging pins are also found on the underside, to connect the earbuds to the charging case.
The bottom of the earbuds has a glossy accent to it, which adds some flair to the design – it is also home to one of the microphones on the earbud – with the other microphone found on the top.
The earbuds are very comfortable to wear thanks to their lightness and they manage to stay placed and fit into my ears brilliantly – providing a tight and comfortable seal around the earbud to help make the listening experience more immersive.
With a soft-touch matte black finish, the charging case shares the same design characteristics that are found on the earbuds. The case is puck-shaped with a clamshell lid design which reveals the earbuds when opened.
On the left-hand side of the charging case is the USB Type-C port and on the right a string so you can attach the case to something such as a bag. The inside of the case is simplistic with slots for the earbuds and a battery level indicator for the case itself.
The charging case is also small enough to fit in my pocket and the rounded design of the case helps make it more comfortable to do so.
The Fem earbuds offer a good and pleasant listening experience with good amounts of bass and treble – providing a fairly balanced sound experience.
The general experience I get from the earbuds is a pleasant amount of bass that isn’t overwhelming, which I personally prefer in comparison to “bass boosted” earbuds accompanied with good quality treble that offers clarity to the audio. The mid frequencies do sit a little prominent within the mix, which can sometimes overthrow the bass.
Overall, I’m very happy with how the earbuds sound with their coverage of the audio spectrum and the listening experience that they offer. Sound isolation offered by the rubber-tipped design of the earbuds is very good and I manage to easily get a good seal within my ear.
One thing that I will mention, as it has been asked about in my previous reviews, is that there is a slight delay when watching video content on a device. I use an iPhone 6s that uses Bluetooth 4.2, so I am unsure if the latency will be alleviated with devices that support Bluetooth 5.0
The earbuds’ microphone quality sounds great for making and taking voice calls or memos. The microphones manage to pick up my voice well to a good volume and the environmental noise-cancelling helps cut out any background noise.
The Fem earbuds have an appealing set of features, including support for Bluetooth 5.0 and IPX5 water resistance so you’ll be able to break a sweat and wear the earbuds whilst at the gym or on a run.
The earbuds also have environmental noise-cancelling for the built-in microphones to help provide a clearer speaking experience by eliminating any background noise. As you will have just heard in the microphone sample, it could take a second or two to kick-in – but once it’s working it helps make your voice sound much clearer.
Other things such as the touch controls are nice to have, as well as the earbuds showing up as a single device in the pairing menu – so there’s no need to faff around with ensuring that the correct earbud is connected.
As far as battery life goes, you can expect to get around 6 hours of listening time at 50% volume – so the battery life of the earbuds can vary depending on how loud you’re listening. When the charging case is considered, you can expect to get up to 20 hours of total listening time and you’ll be able to quickly charge up the earbuds to get an hour of listening time within 15 minutes.
When it comes to charging up the case, that can be done using the USB Type-C port on the side of the case.
Sudio’s Fem earbuds provide an enjoyable listening experience that delivers good quality sound and a solid-feeling and well-made product.
The earbuds are comfortable to wear and have a pleasant design that looks good when worn. Features such as IPX5 water resistance and the 20 hours of total listening time make the earbuds a solid choice when looking for a pair of earbuds.
